College Infrastructure

This century-old institution presently functions from five blocks, namely the Main Building, the New Building, the Arts Block, the Old Commerce Block and the Old Life Science Block, which has been converted into the College Community Centre. The College has a total of 36 classrooms, including a 16-seater Computer Laboratory. Other academic and common facilities include an Auditorium, a Smart Room, a Conference Hall, a Career Counselling Cell, the Central Library, a Students’ Reading Library, a Language Laboratory, separate Common Rooms for Boys and Girls, and a Students’ Canteen. The College also houses the Office, Accounts and Store rooms. A separate Office of the Controller of Examinations, a Confidential Examination Cell, SAMS facilities and Internet connectivity have been provided.

Boarding facilities are provided through four Gents’ Hostels and two Ladies’ Hostels, accommodating around 400 students. Under the World Bank-funded OHEPEE project, twelve additional classrooms, four Science Laboratories, a Girls’ Common Room with a capacity of 160 and a 64-seater Computer Laboratory have been provided. The sports requirements of the students are met through a modern Gymnasium, a Basketball Court and a large Playground.

The College is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible campus for Persons with Disabilities (PwD). Infrastructure for differently abled students includes ramps, specially designed disabled-friendly toilets and wheelchair facility, along with other supportive amenities.
